All required holiday car hire insurances like 3rd party responsibility, CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), TW (Theft Waiver) and Bail Bond (where applicable) are included in our holiday car hire rates. The vehicle's holiday car hire insurance is subject to an insurance excess value :

When you collect the holiday car hire at Faro Airport, you'll be asked to leave a credit card deposit to the value of the holiday car hire excess : (Depending on the type of car you select) between EUR 750.00 and EUR 1250.00. Providing you return the vehicle undamaged at the end of the holiday car hire, this value is returned to your credit card in full. In the unlikely event that you damage the holiday car hire vehicle, your maximum liability is limited to the holiday car hire insurance excess value. The insurance excess for each car at Faro Airport is explained in detail in our section What's Not Included?

Local holiday car hire taxes & airport charges.

Our holiday car hire rates at Faro Airport are fully inclusive of local sales taxes (18.00% in Portugal).

Arrival times for your holiday car hire.

Our holiday car hire rates include service on arrival at Faro Airport within normal office hours (08:00-20:00). If your flight arrives outside these times, there is a surcharge of EUR 25.00. This holiday car hire surcharge is payable locally on arrival at Faro Airport.

The following items are not included in our holiday car hire rates for Faro Airport holiday car hire.

Fuel is not included at Faro Airport!

The fuel that you consume during your holiday car hire is obviously not included in our our published holiday car hire rates! On arrival at the Faro Airport holiday car hire station, you will collect the holiday car hire vehicle with a full tank of fuel against a credit card deposit. At the end of the holiday car hire, return the holiday car hire vehicle with a full tank to Faro Airport to get a refund.

Insurance Excess deposit.

As explained above in What's Included, the holiday car hire vehicle's insurance at Faro Airport is subject to an holiday car hire insurance excess deposit (depending on the type of holiday car hire vehicle you select) between EUR 750.00 and EUR 1250.00. Providing you return the holiday car hire vehicle undamaged, this value is refunded to your credit card in full. In the unlikely event that you damage the holiday car hire vehicle, your maximum liability is limited to the deposit paid.

Lost holiday car hire vehicle keys.

Vehicle keys are chip-coded and are costly and timely items to replace. If you lose the holiday car hire vehicle's key, you will be obliged to pay for its replacement (approximately EUR 120.00) plus any associated transport costs in connecting you with a new vehicle key. More importantly, your holiday holiday car hire at Faro Airport may be seriously affected while you wait for a new key to be prepared for your holiday car hire vehicle. Using the wrong fuel type for your holiday car hire vehicle.

Traffic fines.

Traffic fines, speeding tickets incurred at the wheel of your holiday car hire vehicle at Faro Airport are at your own risk.

Vehicle glass & locks.

It is a sad reality that in most holiday resorts in Portugal, auto-theft is a day-to-day ocurrance. If you park up the holiday car hire vehicle with personal items inside and, as a consequence, the glass or locks are damaged in an attempt to steal your personal effects, you will be responsible for the associated repair costs to the holiday car hire vehicle. We strongly recommend that you park the vehicle in supervised car parks/garages in the major cities and never leave any personal item inside the holiday car hire vehicle.

Damage to the vehicle's underside.

Damage to the vehicle's underside is the responsibility of the renter. Although a very rare ocurrance, damage caused by driving off-road, impacts from rocks or other items to the underside can cause considerable damage to the vehicle. If this situation arises, you will be responsible for the repair costs.

The following items can be added to your holiday car hire reservation for Faro Airport in Portugal :

Infant Seats

Infant seats are suitable for new-born babies until approximately 6 months of age. Infant seats are normally available on holiday car hire vehicles from Faro Airport on request. There is a charge of EUR 20.00 per week for these seats which is payable on arrival at Faro Airport. You must reserve infant seats at the same time as you reserve your holiday car hire.

Baby

Baby seats are suitable for young children from approximately 6 months of age until 2-3 years of age. Seats are supplied for holiday car hire vehicles from Faro Airport on request. There is a charge of EUR 20.00 per week for these seats which is payable on arrival at Faro Airport. You must reserve infant seats at the same time as you reserve your holiday car hire.

Booster Seats

Booster seats are suitable for young children from approximately 2 years until 5 years of age. Booster seats are supplied for holiday car hire vehicles from Faro Airport on request. There is a charge of EUR 20.00 per week for these seats which is payable on arrival at Faro Airport. You must reserve infant seats at the same time as you reserve your holiday car hire.

Additional Drivers

You may add additional drivers to your holiday car hire on arrival in Faro Airport. These are payable locally at Faro Airport at EUR 20.00 per rental.

Buy-out of the Vehicle's Insurance Excess

The holiday car hire vehicles at Faro Airport are sold with an insurance excess. This is explained in the section Whats's Not Included? above.

Instead of leaving a credit card deposit to cover your holiday car hire insurance excess at Faro Airport, you may opt to purchase additional insurance locally to "buy-out" the excess value - effectively removing your liability for vehicle bodywork damage. This option, depending on the holiday car hire vehicle selected, costs between EUR 8.00 and EUR 14.00 per per day. You do not need to prebook insurance excess buy-out, simply decide and pay locally on arrival at the holiday car hire station in Faro Airport when you arrive in Portugal.

Purchasing insurance excess buy-out is not a "licence to kill" and you will still be responsible for items like tyre, wheel, glasss or damage to the underside of the holiday car hire vehicle. The holiday car hire company may still require you to leave a credit card imprint to cover extensions to your holiday car hire contract or traffic fines. Out-of-hours charges at Faro Airport

For arrivals at Faro Airport outside of normal office hours (08:00-20:00), there is a supplement of EUR 25.00 payable on arrival in Portugal. For arrivals late at night you must provide us with your arrival flight number into Faro Airport so the local holiday car hire station can coordinate it's office hours at Faro Airport.

Cross border charges

You can take your holiday car hire vehicle from Faro Airport to tour outside of Portugal. Vehicles rented at Faro Airport can visit Spain but require additional insurance as follows

You must however return to the holiday car hire company station specified on your holiday car hire voucher in Portugal at the end of the holiday car hire period. You may not rent vehicles one-way from Portugal, leaving them in another country.
